Michael Petrucelli
CEO
Our CEO, Michael Petrucelli, has over 25 years of management and operations experience in both government and the private sector. Michael is a skilled relationship builder, with extensive experience cultivating relationships with funders, stakeholders, elected and appointed officials, and community members in order to support growth. He has a demonstrated track record of improving quantitative and qualitative results, particularly in early and middle-stage dynamics, and larger integration efforts.
Michael’s experience in senior leadership roles at various government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S Department of State, the Federal Communications Commission, and the Export-Import Bank of the United States, has provided him with a deep understanding of government affairs, communications, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. In his private sector roles as a senior executive of a number of prominent government contracting firms, Michael has been responsible for the operational performance of all contracts, including those with civilian agencies, U.S. Department of Defense agencies, and the intelligence community. In addition, Michael has deep experience in overseeing the business development function and developing corporate strategy and has also participated directly in acquisition and merger activity in the government contracting space.
Michael’s experience in both the private and public sectors provides him with a unique perspective on how to bridge the gap between government and its stakeholders. His leadership and management expertise will be invaluable in helping Cogito Government Solutions develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance communication and engagement.
Elizabeth Ryba
Director of Communications
Elizabeth M. Ryba is an accomplished communications professional with experience in both the public and private sectors. As the Director of Communications at Cogito Government Solutions, Elizabeth leverages her diverse background to craft effective messaging and strategic communication plans that help bridge the gap between the government and the public. Her ability to develop and execute innovative communication strategies has earned her a reputation as a go-to communications professional to build trust and engage with the public.
With experience managing projects, drafting and executing communication plans, and managing day-to-day communications needs for clients, Elizabeth brings a unique perspective to every project. Her previous roles include serving as a Communications Specialist at the American Public Health Association and as a Project Manager for Wildfire Contact. In these positions, she demonstrated a deep understanding of the nuances of working with government agencies and other public-facing organizations, developing messaging that resonated with diverse audiences and helped these organizations achieve their goals.
Elizabeth’s exceptional ability to develop and execute effective communication strategies has made her a sought-after communications professional in the public and private sectors. Her skills, combined with her passion for public service, make her a valuable asset to any government agency looking to build trust and connect with the public.
Sumner Corbett
Director of Operations
Sumner Corbett is a project management and communications professional. As Director of Operations, he ensures that Cogito Government Solutions’ practice areas continue to integrate the newest innovations in the communications and marketing industry to enable federal customers to achieve their goals. He is committed to ensuring federal customers achieve their goals by delivering results-oriented communications and marketing programs.
Sumner previously worked at Rational 360 where he deployed a variety of communications and marketing tactics to support public and private sector clients across the country including support for public and private research centers in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York, Texas, Rhode Island, and South Carolina to accelerate Alzheimer’s research and clinical trial participation among Black and Hispanic populations. He also worked with advocates in Arizona, Kentucky, Michigan, and Virginia on Hepatitis C testing and treatment access issues for Medicaid beneficiaries. Sumner is a University of Virginia graduate with a B.A. in History. Sumner is also a certified Six Sigma White Belt. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, distance running, and learning French with Duolingo.
